Book soon. We recommend booking as soon as you know you're coming. There are a handful of sporting events taking place in Athens that weekend.
Coordinate with friends or family. A lot of the Airbnb rentals have great spaces for groups.

Walking around Downtown Athens or on the UGA Campus is a fabulous way to spend your day before the wedding. There is plenty of shopping, food, and other amentities downtown.
State Botanical Garden of Georgia is a 313-acre preserve featuring peaceful walking trails, a indoor tropical conservatory, and a children's garden, making it an ideal crisp-weather escape.
Bear Hollow Zoo is a free wildlife trail where you can see native Georgia animals like black bears, owls, and otters in a forested setting.
Sandy Creek Nature Center offers free walking trails, live animals, and hands-on exhibits along the North Oconee River.
